How tournament scoring works in Hoopla
Understand how Hoopla scores tournament rounds from a leaderboard's primary metric and how it breaks ties.
How does scoring work?
Section titled “How does scoring work?”-
The primary Metric on the Leaderboard on which you based your Tournament will be used to calculate the score.
-
Scores start at 0-0 and increment each time a participant improves their value for the Metric during the Tournament.
-
A Player’s/Team’s total points at the end of the Tournament round will be the net difference between their score at the beginning and their score at the end.
What happens in the case of a tie?
Section titled “What happens in the case of a tie?”-
If the score is tied at the end of a round, we will advance the player specified in the tie treatment section from the Tournament’s configuration.
-
Once a Tournament has been created, you may not adjust the tie treatment settings.
-
In the case where the participants in a round match-up each have both the same Leaderboard rank and Leaderboard rank improvement, we will randomly select a participant to advance to the next round.
