Display 7Shifts on your screens

When to use this

Use this guide when you want to display employee schedules, punch-in tracking, or event calendars from 7Shifts on your Displai screens. This integration is designed for restaurant and hospitality operators who use 7Shifts for labor management and want to share schedules with their teams on digital signage.

Steps

1. Activate the 7Shifts app If you don’t see 7Shifts in your Displai dashboard, contact sales at sales@displai.ai to enable premium access.

2. Create a new presentation In your Displai dashboard, create a new presentation and select the 7Shifts app.

3. Connect your 7Shifts account

   • Click Connect to 7Shifts.
   • Log in with your 7Shifts credentials.
   • If this is your first connection, click Grant Access when prompted.
   • Click Copy My Token.
   • Return to the Displai dashboard (use your browser’s back button).
   • Enable I have an auth token, paste your token, and click Connect to 7Shifts.

   Note: First-time connections only require clicking “Connect to 7Shifts” and logging in; subsequent connections require the token flow described above.

4. Select your location Choose the 7Shifts location you want to display from the dropdown menu.

5. Choose your calendar type

   • Schedule calendar: Shows employee schedules, punch-ins, and user updates (updates hourly; absent employees appear with shaded bars; displayed in device timezone).
     • Click Select schedule to set your timeframe.
     • Check the departments you want to display.
     • Click on a department name to expand and select specific roles.
   • Event calendar: Shows monthly events (updates hourly).
     • Select the month to display.
     • Check the boxes for the information you want to show.

6. Configure display settings

   • Select your preferred start day of the week.
   • Choose an auto-scroll speed if your schedule extends beyond one screen.
   • Optionally customize theme colors under the Theme section.
   • Set the presentation duration (default is 120 seconds).

7. Publish to your screen Add the 7Shifts presentation to a playlist, then publish the playlist to your screen.

Verify

Open the 7Shifts presentation on your screen and confirm:

• The correct location is displayed.
• Employee schedules or events appear with current data.
• The calendar scrolls and updates as configured.

If it doesn’t work

Token connection fails: Generate a fresh token from 7Shifts by logging in again and clicking “Copy My Token”. Return to the Displai dashboard and re-paste the new token.

7Shifts app not visible in dashboard: Contact sales@displai.ai to activate premium access.

Data not updating: Schedule and event data refresh hourly. Wait up to one hour after making changes in 7Shifts to see them reflected on your screen.

Wrong timezone displayed: Schedules display in the device timezone. Verify your screen device’s timezone settings.
