Add team metric newsflashes in Hoopla

When to use this

Use team metric newsflashes to celebrate when your entire team hits a collective milestone. For example, trigger a newsflash when your sales team reaches their monthly revenue goal or when your SDR team schedules 100 demos in a week. This differs from individual metric newsflashes, which recognize one person’s achievement.

Steps

1. In the Configure tab, click Metric Newsflashes under Newsflashes in the left navigation. Alternatively, click the Newsflashes tile and then the Metric Newsflashes tile.

2. Click Add.

3. Enter a name for your newsflash. This name will appear throughout the app on TV, web, and mobile when the newsflash is triggered.

4. Select the Metric that will trigger the newsflash.

5. Select Team as your Value Type. When a metric value is missing for a particular team, Hoopla will auto-sum the values for the individuals on that team.

6. Set your Trigger Criteria to specify when the newsflash should fire.

7. Enter a default message. This message will appear throughout the app on TV, web, and mobile when the newsflash is triggered.

8. Decide who can repost the newsflash: only admins, or all players and watchers. This determines who is allowed to repost a newsflash after it has fired.

9. Select the Teams who are eligible to trigger this newsflash.

10. Optionally, select Watchers. The people selected here will be able to view triggered newsflashes in their Activity tab in the web and mobile apps.

11. Click Save, then add your newsflash to any relevant channels.

Verify

After saving, your team metric newsflash will appear in your list of configured newsflashes. When the selected teams meet the trigger criteria, the newsflash will fire and appear across all Hoopla surfaces (TV, web, and mobile).

If it doesn’t work

• Newsflash not appearing in channels: Make sure you completed step 11 and added the newsflash to at least one channel.
• Newsflash not firing when expected: Verify that your trigger criteria are configured correctly and that the selected teams have data for the chosen metric. Remember that team values auto-sum from individual team member metrics when team-level data is missing.
• Cannot find Metric Newsflashes section: Confirm you have admin permissions in Hoopla. If you do and still cannot access this feature, escalate to support.
