Add QR codes to menus, flyers, or Multizone presentations

When to use this

Use this article when you want to display a QR code on your digital signage so customers can scan it with their smartphones to visit a webpage. This works with Menus, Flyers, or Multizone presentations and is ideal for directing customers to your online menu, website, or any other URL.

Steps

1. Open your menu, flyer, or Multizone presentation in Displai.
2. Select one of the following options:
   • “I need a QR code” – Displai will generate a QR code for you after you enter your URL.
   • “I have a QR code” – Upload an existing QR code image if you already use a QR code system (especially useful if your system provides analytics about scans).
3. Enter the URL you want the QR code to link to (for example, your online ordering page or website).
4. Position the QR code on your presentation where customers can easily see and scan it.
5. Add a call-to-action near the QR code so customers know what will happen when they scan it (for example, “Scan to view our full menu” or “Scan to order online”).
6. Save and publish your updated presentation.

Verify

• View your presentation on a screen.
• Use your smartphone camera to scan the QR code.
• Confirm that scanning the code opens the correct webpage on your phone.

If it doesn’t work

• QR code doesn’t scan: Ensure the QR code is large enough and has sufficient contrast against the background. Make sure the screen brightness is adequate for the QR code to be readable.
• Wrong page opens: Double-check the URL you entered when creating the QR code. If you uploaded your own QR code, verify it links to the correct destination.
• Call-to-action unclear: Revise the text near the QR code to clearly explain what customers will see when they scan (for example, “Scan for online ordering” instead of just “Scan here”).
