Display Egg Timer on your screens

When to use this

Use Egg Timer when you want to display a countdown to a specific date, time, or holiday on your screens. This is useful for countdowns to end-of-month sales, business anniversaries, holiday promotions, or any time-based event.

Steps

1. Click the Create button in your Displai dashboard library.
2. Select Egg Timer from the available applications.
3. In the Presentation Builder, enter your countdown target in the Time Value field using one of these formats:
   • Time duration: 1sec, 1min, or 1hour
   • Specific date: mm/dd/yy (for example, 10/28/2026)
   • US holiday name: Christmas, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, etc.
4. Choose a clock display style from the available options:
   • Digital
   • Classic
   • Dot Matrix
   • Large Bar
   • Sunset
   • Slow
5. Configure the audio alert by choosing whether to play an audible beep or ring when the timer reaches zero, or mute it entirely.
6. Set the display duration (default is 30 seconds).
7. Create a new playlist or edit an existing one, then add the Egg Timer presentation to it.
8. Publish the playlist to your screen.

Verify

The Egg Timer countdown should appear on your screen within the playlist rotation. The timer will display in the clock style you selected and count down to your specified target date or time.

If it doesn’t work

If the Egg Timer does not appear on your screen after publishing:

• Verify the playlist is assigned to the correct screen
• Check that the playlist is set as active
• Confirm the duration settings allow enough time for the timer to display
• Ensure your screen is online and receiving content updates

If the timer displays but does not count down correctly, verify the Time Value format matches one of the three supported formats listed in step 3.
