Use this guide when you want to add YouTube videos to your digital signage screens. This works for public and unlisted YouTube videos that you want to display as part of your content rotation.

  1. From your Library, click the + icon to create a new presentation, then click Add YouTube Video.
  2. Enter a descriptive name for your YouTube presentation so you can find it easily later.
  3. Paste the YouTube video URL into the URL field.
  4. Choose whether to mute the video and add subtitles if needed.
  5. Click Save and Done.
  6. Add the presentation to your playlist.
  7. Assign the playlist to your desired screens.
  8. Click Publish to send the content to your screens.

Play only part of a video:

  1. On the YouTube page, click the Share button.
  2. Click the Embed button in the popup.
  3. Enter your start and end times in seconds.
  4. Copy the generated URL and paste it into the Displai YouTube app.

Display YouTube Shorts:

  1. Navigate to the Shorts section on YouTube.
  2. Select your desired Short and click Share.
  3. Copy the URL and paste it into the Displai YouTube app.

Your YouTube video should appear on your assigned screens after publishing. Test the video in your dashboard preview before deploying to confirm it plays correctly.

Video shows “content is not embeddable” error: This typically means music companies have made copyright claims against the video. Contact the video owner or YouTube for assistance.

Video that previously worked has stopped playing: Check that the video is still publicly available on YouTube. The video owner may have changed its privacy settings or removed it.

Private videos don’t play: Displai supports public and unlisted YouTube videos, but not private videos. Change the video privacy setting on YouTube to unlisted or public, or contact support for alternative solutions.
