Add Quickfire Newsflashes in Hoopla
Set up a Quickfire Newsflash so the users you enable can post on-the-fly announcements and shout-outs to your channels.
When to use this
Section titled “When to use this”Quickfire Newsflashes let you make on-the-fly announcements without triggering them through metric updates or integrations. Use this when you need team members to send spontaneous shout-outs, celebrate wins, or share urgent updates directly to your displays.
-
Navigate to the Configure tab and click Quickfire Newsflashes under Newsflashes in the left navigation. Alternatively, click the Newsflashes tile, then Quickfire Newsflashes tile.
-
Click Add.
-
Enter a name for your Quickfire Newsflash. Enter a title for your Quickfire Newsflash—this title appears on the display when the Newsflash fires.
-
If you want to hide the poster’s name and image on the display, check the box under Title on TV.
-
Select who can repost this Newsflash: only admins, or all players and watchers. This determines who is allowed to repost a Newsflash after it has fired.
-
In the Enabled Users section, specify the people who can fire this Newsflash.
-
Optionally, add Watchers. Watchers can view Quickfire Newsflash events in the Activity tab of the web and mobile applications.
-
Click Save.
-
Make the Newsflash active on any Channels where you want it to play.
Verify
Section titled “Verify”After configuration, enabled users will see the Quickfire Newsflash option in their interface. When fired, the Newsflash displays on all active Channels with the configured title and poster information (unless you chose to hide it).
If it doesn’t work
Section titled “If it doesn’t work”- Newsflash doesn’t appear on displays: Verify that you activated the Newsflash on the target Channel. Configuration alone does not enable playback.
- Users cannot fire the Newsflash: Confirm that those users are listed in the Enabled Users section.
- Cannot access Quickfire Newsflashes settings: You need admin permissions. If you are an admin and still cannot access this section, contact your account owner or escalate to support.
