Enable multi-timezone scheduling in Hoopla
Turn on multi-timezone scheduling so your scheduled playlists play at the same local time on screens in every time zone.
When to use this
Section titled “When to use this”Enable multi-timezone scheduling when you manage screens across multiple time zones and want playlists to play at the same local time everywhere. Without this feature, a playlist scheduled for 9 AM in New York plays at 6 AM in San Francisco. With multi-timezone scheduling enabled, both locations play at 9 AM local time.
Accounts created after March 2022 have this feature enabled by default.
- Verify that each device has the correct time zone configured in your Hoopla account.
- Sign in to Hoopla as an administrator.
- Navigate to your account settings.
- Locate the multi-timezone scheduling toggle.
- Enable multi-timezone scheduling.
For enterprise domains: Super admins enabling this feature automatically activate it for every user in the domain. All resources, including scheduled playlists, are shared across the domain.
Verify
Section titled “Verify”Check a scheduled playlist on devices in different time zones. Each device should play the content at the same local time, not the same absolute time.
If it doesn’t work
Section titled “If it doesn’t work”Playlists still playing at wrong times: Confirm each device has the correct time zone set in the device configuration. Time zone settings must be configured before enabling multi-timezone scheduling.
Cannot invite users to enterprise domain: Users being invited must share the same timezone behavior as your domain. If they do not, you will see an error message when attempting the invite. The invited user must update their account to match your domain’s timezone behavior before the invite succeeds.
Feature not available: Contact support if you do not see the multi-timezone scheduling option in your account settings.
