Display RetailNext occupancy tracking on your screens

When to use this

Use this integration to display real-time occupancy counts from RetailNext on your screens. This helps you monitor customer traffic, enforce capacity limits, and provide visible occupancy information to customers and staff.

Steps

1. Generate RetailNext API credentials

You must be a Subscription Admin in your RetailNext account to complete this step.

1. Sign in to the RetailNext cloud interface.
2. Navigate to Admin Settings > System API Tokens.
3. Click Add in the bottom-left corner.
4. Name the token (we recommend “Displai Screen Signage”).
5. Select Subscription Admin as the User Profile.
6. Select All Locations as the Location Profile to grant access to all your locations.
7. Set Expiration to Never (if available) or 1 Year.
8. Complete the token creation process.
9. Keep the RetailNext tab open—the access key and secret key are displayed only once.

2. Share credentials securely with Displai

Do not share your RetailNext credentials via email. Use LastPass instead:

1. Create a LastPass account at lastpass.com/create-account.php.
2. Install the LastPass browser extension and sign in.
3. Create a secure note in LastPass containing:
   • Your Displai username
   • The RetailNext API access key
   • The RetailNext secret key
4. Save the note.
5. Hover over the note and click the Sharing button.
6. Enter operations@raydiant.com in the recipient field.
7. Click Share.
8. Verify your email address if LastPass prompts you.

Displai will activate the integration and notify you by email when it’s ready.

3. Create your occupancy presentation

Once activated, the RetailNext app will appear in your Displai dashboard.

1. Open your Displai dashboard.
2. Click the RetailNext icon to create a new occupancy presentation.
3. Select the location you want to display.
4. Customize your display:
   • Build a custom theme (optional)
   • Adjust desired occupancy levels
   • Choose display language
   • Add a QR code and call-to-action URL (optional)

4. Publish to your screens

1. Add the occupancy presentation to a playlist.
2. Assign the playlist to your desired screens.
3. Click Publish.

Verify

Your screens should now display real-time occupancy data from RetailNext. Check that:

• The correct location is shown
• Occupancy counts update in real time
• Your theme and call-to-action (if configured) display correctly

If it doesn’t work

If the RetailNext app does not appear in your dashboard after sharing credentials:

• Wait 24–48 hours for activation.
• Check your email for a confirmation from Displai.
• If you do not receive confirmation within 48 hours, contact Displai support.

If you closed the RetailNext tab before completing Step 2:

• The secret key cannot be retrieved.
• Delete the API token in RetailNext and create a new one.
• Complete the sharing process again.
