Use Hoopla on your mobile device

When to use this

This article shows you how to download, set up, and use the Hoopla mobile app on iOS or Android devices. Use this when you want to view leaderboards, celebrate team achievements, receive milestone notifications, or track metrics while away from your desk.

Steps

Download the app

1. Open the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) on your device.
2. Search for Hoopla - Team Engagement and Motivation.
3. Tap Install or Get.
4. Wait for the download and installation to complete.

Enable push notifications (recommended)

1. When prompted after opening the app, tap Allow to enable push notifications.
2. If you skip this step, you can enable notifications later in your device’s system settings.

Push notifications alert you about newsflashes, faceoff events, and leaderboard updates when the app is running in the background.

Log in

If you received a Hoopla email with login credentials:

1. Open the Hoopla mobile app.
2. Enter your email and password.
3. Tap Log In.

If your organization uses Salesforce:

1. Open the Hoopla mobile app.
2. Tap the Salesforce icon.
3. Log in using your Salesforce credentials.

Navigate the app

The app has four main tabs:

• Activity — a chronological feed of newsflashes, challenges, and insights. You can like or comment on any feed item. The To Do section shows items waiting for your action, such as personalizing newsflashes or responding to challenges.
• Rankings — a list of all leaderboards where you are a player or watcher. Tap any leaderboard to view details. If you are a player, tap another player’s name to compare performance and challenge them to a faceoff.
• Quickfire — lets you fire off announcements without triggering a newsflash through a metric update. Select a newsflash template, write a message, and tap Fire.
• Notifications — displays alerts when someone likes or comments on one of your activity feed items.

Start a faceoff challenge

1. Go to the Rankings tab.
2. Select a leaderboard where you are a player.
3. Tap the person you want to challenge.
4. Tap Challenge [name] to Faceoff.
5. Tap Invite.

Verify

After logging in, you should see the Activity tab with your team’s recent events. Tap each of the four tabs to confirm you can navigate between them. If you enabled push notifications, you will receive alerts when team members hit milestones or when faceoff events occur.

If it doesn’t work

App not found in app store: Confirm you are searching for Hoopla - Team Engagement and Motivation. The app name must match exactly. If the app still does not appear, escalate to support.

Cannot log in: Verify you are using the correct login method (direct credentials or Salesforce). If you continue to see login errors after confirming your credentials are correct, escalate to support.

Push notifications not appearing: Open your device’s system settings and confirm Hoopla has notification permissions enabled. If notifications are enabled but you still do not receive them, check that you are a player or watcher on the relevant leaderboards.
