Manage multiple screens at once with batch management

Applies to plan(s): Enterprise.

When to use this

Batch management lets you update settings for multiple screens simultaneously instead of configuring each screen individually. Use this when you need to assign playlists, change screen orientation, update tags, or modify other settings across many screens at once. This feature is available only to Enterprise customers.

Steps

1. Navigate to the Screens tab in your dashboard.
2. Click Manage Multiple from the toolbar.
3. Select the screens whose settings you want to update by checking the boxes next to each screen name.
4. A batch management panel will appear on the right side of the screen.
5. Configure the settings you want to change:
   • Assign playlists – select which playlist(s) to apply to the selected screens
   • Screen orientation – set portrait or landscape mode
   • Manage tags – add, remove, overwrite, or clear tags (see tag management section below)
6. Use filters to refine your screen selection:
   • Connection Status – filter by online or offline screens
   • Playlist – show only screens with a specific playlist assigned
   • Resolution – filter by screen resolution
   • Screen Orientation – filter by portrait or landscape
   • Screen Owners or Shared With – filter by user access
7. Scroll to the bottom of the batch management panel and click Apply.
8. Review the summary screen that shows all changes that will be made to the selected screens.
9. If you want to publish changes immediately, leave the Automatically publish after applying all settings checkbox selected. If you prefer to publish manually later, uncheck this box.
10. Click Confirm to apply the batch update.

Tag operations

Tags consist of a key and one or more values. For example, a tag with key “city” might have values “San Francisco” or “New York”. You can perform these tag operations:

• Clear tag – remove all instances of a tag with the selected key from all selected screens
• Remove tag values – remove specific values from tags with the selected key (example: remove “New York” from city tags)
• Overwrite a tag – replace all values for tags with the selected key (example: change all city values to “London” or “Sydney”)
• Add a tag – create a new tag or add a value to an existing tag; if the tag already exists, the new value is appended (example: adding “Paris” to a tag with “San Francisco|New York” results in “San Francisco|New York|Paris”)

Verify

After clicking Confirm, the batch update process begins. Batch updates may take several minutes to complete depending on the number of screens selected.

• If you enabled automatic publishing, changes will appear on screens once the update completes and publishes successfully.
• If you disabled automatic publishing, return to the Screens section and use the Publish All button to push changes to devices individually or in batch.

If it doesn’t work

• Batch update is taking longer than expected – Large batch operations can take several minutes. Wait for the process to complete before making additional changes.
• Changes not appearing on screens – If you disabled automatic publishing, you must manually publish changes from the Screens section.
• Cannot access batch management features – Batch management is only available on Enterprise plans. If you’re on a different plan and need this feature, contact your account representative to discuss upgrading.
• Screens not responding after batch update – Some changes require a playlist to be published to take effect. Ensure publishing completed successfully or manually publish to affected screens.
