Trigger a newsflash from Zapier
Add a Hoopla action to a Zap so events in your other apps fire a newsflash automatically.
When to use this
Section titled “When to use this”Use this integration when you want to automatically trigger a newsflash in Hoopla based on events in other applications connected to Zapier. This lets you celebrate wins, share updates, or broadcast alerts without manually creating newsflashes in Hoopla.
- Log in to your Zapier account and navigate to the Zap where you want to add the newsflash trigger.
- Add a new action step in your Zap.
- Search for and select the Hoopla app.
- Choose “Trigger Newsflash” as the action event.
- Connect your Hoopla account if you haven’t already authenticated it in Zapier.
- Configure the newsflash settings: title, message, duration, and any other required fields.
- Map data from your trigger or previous steps to populate the newsflash content dynamically (optional).
- Test the action to confirm the newsflash appears in Hoopla.
- Turn on your Zap.
Verify
Section titled “Verify”After turning on your Zap, trigger the event that should fire the newsflash. Check your Hoopla dashboard or connected screens to confirm the newsflash appears with the correct content and timing.
If it doesn’t work
Section titled “If it doesn’t work”- Newsflash doesn’t appear: Verify your Zap ran successfully in the Zapier task history. Check that the Hoopla action step shows a successful execution.
- Authentication errors: Reconnect your Hoopla account in Zapier. Remove the existing connection and re-authenticate with admin credentials.
- Content missing or incorrect: Review the field mappings in your Zap action. Ensure dynamic fields from previous steps are correctly mapped to the newsflash fields.
- Zap not triggering: Confirm the trigger app event is firing as expected. Test the trigger manually in Zapier to rule out issues with the source application.
If issues persist after these checks, contact support with your Zap ID and a description of the behavior you’re seeing.
