Display images on your Displai screens
Upload static images or GIFs to your library and show them on your screens, with fit or fill scaling and a duration you set.
When to use this
Section titled “When to use this”Use this guide when you want to display static images or GIFs on your Displai screens. This works for all customers and requires no additional setup or activation.
- Navigate to your Library in the Displai Dashboard and click the green “Create” button.
- Find the “Upload Images” application and click on it.
- Select one or more images from your computer and click “Open”.
- Locate the uploaded image in your Library and open it.
- Configure the presentation settings:
- Name: Set a name for the presentation in your library
- Scaling: Choose “Fit” (resizes image to fit screen with no cropping) or “Fill” (expands image to fill entire screen)
- Duration: Set how long the image displays (default is 30 seconds)
- Click “Save” and then “Done”.
- Create or edit a playlist and add your new image to it.
- Publish the playlist to your screen.
Verify
Section titled “Verify”The image should appear on your screen after the playlist publishes. Check that:
- The image displays for the duration you set
- The scaling looks correct (no unwanted cropping or letterboxing)
- Animated GIFs play smoothly (though they may start at a random frame)
If it doesn’t work
Section titled “If it doesn’t work”Image looks pixelated: Use a higher resolution image. Optimal resolution is 1920x1080 with a 16:9 aspect ratio.
Image has black bars (letterboxing): Your image aspect ratio doesn’t match your screen. Either use a 16:9 aspect ratio image or choose “Fill” scaling (note: Fill may crop parts of the image).
Animated GIF doesn’t start from the beginning: GIFs are preloaded for optimal playback, which causes them to start at random phases of the animation. Convert your GIF to a video file and upload it using the Video app instead. This guarantees the animation starts from the beginning.
Supported formats: GIF (animated and still), JPG, PNG, SVG, and BMP.
