Advanced WiFi settings and notes.

Displai’s hardware is designed to connect to any visible Wi-Fi network or any wired network via a supported USB-to-Ethernet adapter. However, please note that hidden Wi-Fi networks are not supported.

MAC Address Whitelisting

If your organization's network employs a MAC ACL, or access control list, your devices MAC address may need to be whitelisted. The MAC address for your devices Wi-Fi connection can be found on the back label of the device. If you connect to your wireless network via a captive portal, you will need to whitelist your devices MAC address to bypass the portal.

Port Whitelisting

If your organization's network limits port access to clients by default, you may need to whitelist certain outbound ports for your device.

  • 53 (UDP)
  • 80 (TCP)
  • 123 (UDP)
  • 443 (TCP and UDP)

Domain Whitelisting

If your organization's network has a firewall with domain access control, several domains need to be whitelisted to ensure your device can connect to Raydiant's servers:

  • 8.8.8.8 for DNS resolution. By default, a Displai device will query both 8.8.8.8 and any DNS servers advertised through DHCP and use whichever response is fastest. If 8.8.8.8 port 53 is blocked and a local DNS server is advertised through DHCP then devices will use the local server exclusively
  • displai.ai
  • .balena.io
  • .balena-cloud.com
  • .docker.com
  • .docker.io
  • .getmira.com
  • .pubnub.com

Port & domain lists may change as our product offering grows.

Other Connection Issues

If your device is still unable to connect to the internet, your device may be unable to establish a connection with your Wi-Fi network. There are several steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

  • Ensure your device is within range of the Wi-Fi hotspot.
  • Ensure the Wi-Fi credentials you entered are correct. If your Wi-Fi network name or password has been changed since you set up your device, you will need to follow the setup instructions on your TV screen to connect to the network with the new credentials by following these steps.
  • Try connecting your device to the network via a supported USB-to-Ethernet adapter.
