Release: Hoopla: Live Traffic (Waze) in Hoopla Channels
We’ve added a Traffic step powered by Waze directly into Hoopla Channels - so your teams can stay aware of live traffic conditions in any location, without switching tools.
What’s new
- Add Traffic as a step in any channel
- Powered by Waze live traffic data
- Fully configurable view:
- Location (address, city, or ZIP)
- City or GPS coordinates
- Zoom level (street-level, detailed, or close-up)
- Live traffic visualization (green, yellow, red flow)
- Auto-refreshing map - always up to date
Why it matters
- Operational awareness
Teams can instantly see traffic conditions around stores, job sites, or territories.
- Better decision-making
Useful for logistics, field teams, and time-sensitive operations.
- More dynamic screens
Your Hoopla channels now reflect real-world conditions, not just internal data.
How it works
- Go to your Channel Builder
- Add a new “Traffic” step
- Set:
- Location (city, address, or coordinates)
- Map type (city or GPS)
- Zoom level
- Save → publish
That’s it. The map will render directly on your screens and keep itself updated.

Release: Hoopla: Support Team-Level Metrics Mapping from PowerBI
PowerBI integrations were limited to user-level mapping, forcing customers tracking team performance to manually aggregate data or restructure reports outside of Hoopla. This broke real-world reporting.
What’s New
You can now map PowerBI metrics directly to teams. Use "Team Name" instead of "Email" in your data source to automatically assign metric values to the corresponding Hoopla team, using the same logic as Google Sheets/Excel team mapping.
Why It Matters
This eliminates a costly manual aggregation step, allowing faster setup for team competitions and dashboards, and better aligning with how companies track performance (e.g., regions, stores). A retail customer tracking store revenue can now push that data directly to the store team.
PowerBI is now a first-class source for team-based metrics, leading to less setup friction, faster adoption, and cleaner, more accurate data in Hoopla.

Release: Hoopla: Recurring Challenges - Expanded + Smarter Tournaments
We’ve extended recurrence support and improved how tournaments adapt to real team changes.
What’s New
Recurrence is now available for:
- Battle
- Tournament
Already supported (no changes):
- Faceoff
- Race
Tournament now adapts to your leaderboard
This is the real upgrade.
Each time a recurring Tournament runs:
1. Players are rebuilt from the leaderboard
- Uses current leaderboard participants
- Not tied to the original challenge setup
Example:
- More players joined → more rounds created
- Fewer players → fewer rounds
2. Rounds adjust automatically
- System recalculates number of rounds based on player count
- Keeps tournament structure valid without manual intervention
3. Points & rewards adapt (backward logic)
Rewards are mapped from previous configuration:
- Highest rewards always stay at the final round
- Earlier rounds adjust depending on total rounds
Customers can still edit rewards before the tournament starts
Battle recurrence (simple + consistent)
- Battles can now run on a recurring schedule
- Behavior remains consistent with current setup (no dynamic restructuring)
What stays unchanged
- Faceoff recurrence → same players, same structure
- Race recurrence → no changes
Why this matters
- Less manual setup for recurring competitions
- Tournaments stay aligned with real team size and structure
- Works better for orgs with frequent joiners/leavers

Release: Hoopla: Delta Metric Support via Public API
We’ve introduced delta-based updates for Hoopla metrics via Public API.
What’s new
You can now increment metric values instead of overwriting them with each API call.
- Add to existing values (e.g., total talk time, calls, revenue)
- Maintain accurate aggregation over time (daily, weekly, monthly)
- Fully compatible with existing metric timeframes
Why this matters
Previously, API integrations could only replace metric values.
That created friction for real-time systems like:
- Dialpad
- AI-driven tools
- Custom event pipelines
Now, each API call can build on top of the previous value — exactly how real-world performance works.

Release: Hoopla: Salesforce Automatic Leaderboard Creation for New Teams
As organizations grow, new teams are constantly being created - through integrations like Salesforce, imports, or manual updates. Until now, admins had to manually create leaderboards for every new team, which added extra work and sometimes caused teams to be left out of performance tracking.
What’s New
You can now automatically create leaderboards when a new team is created.
This setting is available directly in the Metric configuration page.
Admins simply enable:
“Automatically create leaderboards for this metric when a team is created.”
Then define a Leaderboard Name Template, for example:
<team> Leaderboard
<team> Revenue Leaderboard
When a new team appears, Hoopla will automatically:
- Create a leaderboard for that team
- Use the selected metric
- Add all team members as players
- Apply the configured naming template
Example
If the template is:
Revenue – <team>
And a new team Cross Sell is created, Hoopla will automatically generate:
Revenue – Cross Sell
Important note
To keep the behavior predictable, this automation applies only to teams created after the setting is enabled. Existing teams will not generate leaderboards automatically.
Result
This update helps organizations:
- Reduce manual leaderboard setup
- Ensure new teams immediately appear in performance tracking
- Maintain consistent leaderboard structures as teams grow
Combined with automatic team creation from Salesforce reports, Hoopla can now automatically keep both teams and leaderboards in sync as organizations evolve.

Release: Hoopla: Salesforce Team Automation: Create and Maintain Teams from a Single Report
Managing large teams in Salesforce often requires constant manual updates. When managers change, reps move between teams, or organizations restructure, teams in Hoopla can quickly become outdated.
Previously, many enterprise customers maintained multiple Salesforce reports - sometimes one per team - to keep Hoopla teams in sync. This created unnecessary administrative work and frequent maintenance.
What’s New
You can now automatically create and maintain Hoopla Teams directly from a Salesforce report using a configurable Map Field.
With this feature, Hoopla will:
- Automatically create teams based on a Salesforce field (for example Manager, Location, or Role)
- Automatically assign members to those teams using the report’s user email field
- Automatically update teams when Salesforce data changes (manager changes, reps move, etc.)
How it works
Admins select a Salesforce report and choose a field to map to team names. Hoopla then uses that report to continuously sync team membership.
Supported report formats include:
- Tabular reports with columns such as:
- Map Field (for example Manager or Location)
- User Name (optional)
- User Email (required)
- Grouped reports, where the grouping field represents the team structure.
Additional capabilities
This update also supports multi-level grouped reports, allowing organizations to reflect hierarchical team structures in Hoopla.
For example:
Sales Region → Role → Users
This enables customers to mirror more complex Salesforce organizational structures inside Hoopla.
Result
Organizations can now maintain their Hoopla teams automatically using a single Salesforce report, significantly reducing manual updates and improving data accuracy.

Release: Hoopla: Huddle Messages Now Supported in Slack Notifications
What’s New
We’ve expanded the Slack integration to support Huddle Messages.
Customers can now choose “Message” as a notification type in the Slack channel configuration modal on the Slack Integration page. When enabled, any message posted to a Hoopla channel can also be delivered to the connected Slack channel.
This restores the behavior previously supported by Quickfire Newsflashes, making it easier for teams to stay informed directly in Slack.
How it Works
When Message notifications are enabled for a Hoopla channel (General, Recognition, Emergency, or HooplaAI), messages posted to that channel will also appear in the configured Slack channel.
Key behavior:
- Markdown formatting in the message body is preserved in Slack
- Critical General messages display a “Critical” label in Slack
- Recognized users, teams, or non-listed people appear in the message (with name and image where available)
- Image attachments are displayed directly in Slack
Non-Image Attachments
Behavior depends on whether the Hoopla bot is a member of the Slack channel:
- Bot is not a member → attachments appear as links
- Bot is a member → attachments are uploaded as files in a follow-up Slack message
This update improves message visibility for teams that primarily collaborate in Slack while keeping Hoopla as the source of communication.

Release: Hoopla: Asset Expiration & Empty Tag Notifications
Managing large content libraries can make it difficult to keep backgrounds up to date. When assets are removed or outdated content remains in the library, channels may end up showing broken or missing backgrounds. This release introduces automated lifecycle management to keep channels clean and functioning properly.
What’s New
Asset Expiration
Admins can now set an expiration date for assets directly in the Content Management section.
What happens when an asset expires
- Expired assets are automatically removed from all Channel and Segment step backgrounds.
- Any affected step falls back to the system default background, preventing broken visuals on screens.
- The asset is marked as expired in the library.
Expiration is processed automatically at midnight on the selected date, ensuring outdated content is removed without manual cleanup.
Empty Tag Notifications
Some channel backgrounds rely on asset tags. If all assets in a tag are removed or expire, it can leave the tag empty.
With this update:
- If a tag used in a background configuration becomes empty, the channel will automatically display the default background.
- Admins receive an email notification identifying the empty tag and impacted configurations.
To reduce noise, notifications are sent once per day at midnight.
Outcome
These improvements ensure:
- Channels never display broken or missing backgrounds
- Content libraries stay clean and organized
- Admins spend less time manually auditing assets and troubleshooting visual issues.

Release: Digital Signage: Playlist builder Enhancements
We've updated Playlist Builder with a range of improvements to make building, previewing, and managing playlists faster and more intuitive. Here's what's new:
What’s New
A Cleaner, Clearer Interface
- Schedule status is always visible - no more hovering to see whether a schedule is active. Status is now shown at a glance.
- Playlists stand out from presentations - playlist titles now appear in bolder typography, making it easier to navigate complex structures.
- Helpful tooltips when actions are blocked - Edit and Duplicate options are always visible; if you can't use them yet, a tooltip tells you exactly why (e.g. "Save changes before editing this playlist").
Better Preview Experience
- Empty state guidance - if your playlist has no content yet, the preview panel now shows helpful instructions instead of a blank screen: "Select content from the left to show a preview."
- Highlighted selected item - a blue outline shows which item is currently being previewed, so you always know what you're looking at.
- Expand/Collapse preview - use the new Expand button to give your preview the full screen width, hiding the side panel. Collapse restores the default split layout anytime.
Faster Content Setup
- Clearer "Add content" button - the + button on the root playlist is now labeled + Add content, so its purpose is immediately obvious.
- Smarter new playlist onboarding - new and empty playlists now include a help article link, an Add Content call-to-action, and step-by-step guidance to get you started quickly.
Smoother Naming & Workflow
- Better default playlist names - new playlists are automatically named with the current date and time (e.g. New Playlist – 2026/03/05 14:30), making them easier to identify.
- Instant rename on creation - when a new playlist is created, the name field is automatically focused and selected, so you can start typing a custom name right away.
- Quicker way to add library content - library cards now offer two direct actions:
- Create new playlist - creates a new playlist and adds the selected item in one step. The new playlist is pre-named after the item you selected.
- Add to playlist - adds the selected content into an existing playlist without leaving your flow.

Release: Hoopla: Performance Console Now Supports Backgrounds in Channels
What’s New
We’ve added background support to the Performance Console step inside Channels. You can now apply branded backgrounds to the Performance Console - just like you can with leaderboards, challenges, and other channel steps.
Why this matters
Previously, the Performance Console appeared without background customization, which created visual inconsistency when displayed alongside other branded content.
Now you can:
- Maintain full visual consistency across your Channel
- Apply your brand colors, images, or design themes
- Create a more polished on-screen experience
How it works:
- Background settings are available directly within the Performance Console step
- We’ve reused the existing background configuration system
- Background applies specifically to the Performance Console step within the Channel
- Text readability remains optimized
This update helps your performance data look as good as it performs.

Release: Hoopla: Enhancements for HubSpot Users
We’ve just released two highly requested improvements to make HubSpot → Hoopla metric mapping more powerful and flexible.
- OR Logic in HubSpot Metric Mappings
What’s New
You can now apply OR logic within a single mapping condition.
Instead of creating multiple separate mappings for:
- Deal Stage = Closed Won
- OR Deal Stage = Closed Won Deposit
You can now select multiple values within the same field.
Why this matters
Previously, customers had to:
- Create multiple separate mappings
- Export and combine data externally (e.g., Google Sheets)
- Manage cluttered configurations
Now:
- Fewer mappings
- Cleaner setup
- Faster visibility into performance
- No external workarounds
This is especially helpful for teams tracking multiple deal stages or deal types under a single metric.
2. “Next Week” Time Range Option
What’s New
You can now select “Next Week” as a time range when mapping HubSpot data to Hoopla metrics.
Why this matters
Until now, time ranges only supported historical or current data.
This update allows you to:
- Track scheduled items
- Monitor future activity
- Display upcoming performance targets on TV screens
- Drive proactive behavior, not just report past results
Perfect for teams planning ahead and wanting visibility into what’s coming.
These updates are live and available now in your HubSpot → Hoopla metric mappings.
If you’d like help optimizing your setup, reach out - we’re happy to assist.

Release: Digital Signage: Stripe Self-Service Billing Now Available in the Dashboard

- Additional Bill To Contact
Our system securely checks the full Salesforce account hierarchy (including parent and child accounts) and grants or revokes access instantly based on that information.

→ Please reach out to your Account Success Manager at Displai to review and update your billing contact details.
Invoice History
The Stripe portal displays:
- Invoices created after the Stripe migration
Invoices created prior to migration remain in Salesforce.
If you need historical invoices:
→ Please contact Support or your Account Success Manager.

Release: Digital Signage: Multizone Layouts - Now More Flexible
What’s New
You can now invert existing multizone proportions.
We now support:
- 70:30 → 30:70
- 60:40 → 40:60
No new layouts introduced - just more flexibility with the ones you already use.
Why This Matters
Many menu boards require:
- Visual weight at the bottom (pricing, modifiers)
- Promos or secondary content on the larger zone
- Brand-standard layout alignment across locations
Previously, customers had to use design workarounds. Now, you can simply flip the ratio and move forward.

Newsflashes are the heart of recognition. Now they work seamlessly across Hoopla and digital signage - so wins never get missed.
This is a major step in bringing Hoopla and digital signage together into one connected experience.
