What is Setup Mode?

What is Setup Mode?

Setup Mode allows administrators to configure Users, Metrics, and other settings before officially launching Hoopla. While Setup Mode is active, system emails—including invites—will not be sent to Users. This gives admins full control over setup without triggering premature notifications.


How Does It Work?

No action is required—Setup Mode is automatically enabled for all new Hoopla accounts. A blue banner at the top of the screen will indicate that your account is currently in Setup Mode.


Can I Send Welcome Emails to Specific Users While Still in Setup Mode?

Yes. To invite a specific user without disabling Setup Mode:

  1. Go to Configuration > Users and Teams.
  1. Select the user you want to invite.
  1. Under Invitation Status, click Send Invite and Enable Emails.

This user will receive a welcome email and begin receiving product-related messages.


How Do I Turn Off Setup Mode?

To disable Setup Mode:

  1. Navigate to Settings.
  1. Click Turn Off under Setup Mode.
  1. Confirm when prompted.

Once Setup Mode is turned off:

  • All manually added Users will receive welcome emails.
  • Users added via Salesforce will not receive an invite.
  • Users who were previously invited individually will not receive duplicate emails.
⚠️ Note: Setup Mode cannot be re-enabled after it is turned off.
