Types of Metric Newsflashes

Metric Newsflashes help you and your team celebrate important achievements as they happen.

For example, you may want to recognize a user for closing $100,000 in new business or for scheduling 50 meetings in a month. Or you may want to recognize the entire sales team for closing $1,000,000 in new business.

Each Metric Newsflash must consist of criteria based on a Metric you've defined, and a set of Users, Teams, or Generic Identifiers that can trigger the Newsflash.

All Metric Newsflashes - User, Team and Generic Identifier - post immediately on your TV Channel and Users' Activity tab when they trigger. In addition, User Metric Newsflashes provide an option for you to allow users to personalize the Metric Newsflash displayed on TV channels and Activity feed.

Configuring a Metric Newsflash

In the Configure tab, click Metric Newsflashes under Newsflashes in the left nav. Alternatively, click the Newsflashes tile and then Metric Newsflashes tile.

Click Add.

Enter a name for your Newsflash. This name will appear throughout the app (TV, web, and mobile) when the Newsflash is triggered.

Select the Metric that will trigger the Newsflash. You should select a Metric that will have the appropriate metric for the type of Newsflash you would like to trigger. (User, Team or Generic Identifier.

Select your Value Type (User, Team or Generic Identifier), since you want to trigger this Newsflash when the user, team or GI metric increases or hits a certain value.

Set your Trigger Criteria to specify when the Newsflash should be triggered.

Enter a default message or choose to let the player personalize. This will appear throughout the app (TV, web, and mobile), when the Newsflash is triggered.

Decide who you want to give Repost permissions to: only admins or all players and watchers. This determines who is allowed to repost a Newsflash that has fired.

Select the users, teams or generic identifiers that can cause this Newsflash to be triggered.

Optionally, select Watchers. The people selected here will be able to view triggered Newsflashes in their Activity tab in the web and mobile apps.

Click Save.

ProTip: For User Metric Newsflashes, the system is set to default to letting the player personalize before posting. If you would like to post instantly, create a message for the newsflash without allowing personalization.

What can Users Personalize for their Metric Newsflash?

You have the option to allow your users to personalize their Metric Newsflashes for TV Channels and the Activity tab of the other Players and Watchers. Users can personalize the celebration with a photo and message.

How does User Personalization Work?

When a Metric Newsflash triggers, the eligible user is notified and prompted in her Activity tab to personalize the Metric Newsflash.

After she posts her photo and message, the Metric Newsflash then displays on your TV Channel, and the Activity tab for other Players and Watchers of the Newsflash to see.
