HubSpot Newsflashes: Celebrate Wins Directly from HubSpot
Overview
Hoopla now supports native HubSpot-triggered Newsflashes, letting you automatically celebrate key sales moments - like new leads or closed deals - without relying on Zapier or other third-party tools.
With HubSpot Newsflashes, you can:
- Recognize wins instantly
- Keep your team engaged on the Huddle or TV screens
- Automate points, badges, and recognition from HubSpot events
What’s New
This update adds direct Newsflash triggers from HubSpot CRM - mirroring the experience already available for Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics users.
You can now:
- Configure HubSpot events (like Deal Closed Won or Lead Created) as Newsflash triggers.
- Use any HubSpot property in your message, including lookup fields such as Pipeline or Deal Type.
- Skip the manual support process - all properties are fetched automatically from HubSpot’s API.

Native HubSpot Triggers
Automatically trigger Newsflashes based on HubSpot activities - for example:
- A new deal is created or closed
- A lead is assigned to a rep
- A ticket is resolved
Each event can fire a Newsflash that displays live in Hoopla and awards points or badges.
Merge Fields Support
Customize your message using HubSpot data.
Example:

Supported field types:
- Text / Number
- Date
- Lookup fields (e.g., Pipeline, Deal Type, Stage)
Hoopla now fetches the display label for lookup fields, not just the internal ID.

Hoopla pulls all available entity fields directly from HubSpot, so admins can configure triggers and mappings without developer assistance.

⚙️ How to Set It Up
Step 1: Connect HubSpot
- Go to Integrations → HubSpot in Hoopla: https://app.hoopla.net/configuration/integrations/hubspot
- Click Connect HubSpot Account and log in with your HubSpot credentials.
Step 2: Create a Newsflash
- Go to Newsflashes → Add New.

- Choose HubSpot as the source.
- Select your event trigger (e.g., Deal Closed Won).
Step 3: Map Fields
- Choose HubSpot fields you’d like to include in the Newsflash message.
- You can use merge fields such as:
- {{deal_name}}
- {{amount}}
- {{pipeline}}
- {{close_date}}
Step 4: Customize Your Message
- Write your celebration message using merge fields.
Example: “🚀 {{deal_owner}} just closed a deal worth ${{amount}} in {{pipeline}}!”
- Add points or badges if desired.
- Save and test.
Step 5: See It in Action
When a matching HubSpot event occurs, Hoopla posts a live Newsflash on your Huddle or channel.
⏱ Note: HubSpot sync runs every 5 minutes, so the Newsflash may appear with a short delay.
💡 Tips and Notes
- Newsflashes only trigger for new or updated deals after setup.
- Lookup fields now show friendly names, not IDs.
- To add complex logic (e.g., trigger only when amount > $10,000), use the Dataset Criteria configuration.
- If no value is returned from HubSpot, Hoopla will show a fallback (e.g., “N/A”).
Limitations
- HubSpot triggers run on a 5-minute sync interval (not real-time yet).
- Historical deals won’t trigger Newsflashes retroactively.
- Only users with Admin access can edit mappings.
