Release: Hoopla Channels - Tableau Integration

What’s New:

  • Tableau users can now embed worksheet visuals directly inside Hoopla Channels as a step.
  • Pick a worksheet tab, and it renders natively (bar, pie, line, etc.) - no remapping or recreating needed.
  • Visuals auto-update when changed in Tableau and can be resized like any other block.
  • If a visual can’t render, a clear error message will appear.

Data from Tableau, live on your screens, without extra steps.

 

Release: Product Highlights - Alias Controls + Search

What’s New:

  • Team admins can now choose whether to allow or block aliases across Hoopla.
  • When disabled, all names display as official names only in leaderboards, reports, and recognition.
  • You can now also search for teammates by their alias (nickname).
  • Note: search returns the official name only (aliases won’t display side-by-side).
 

Release: Product Highlights - Badge Count on Newsflash

What’s New:

  • When a teammate earns a badge during a Newsflash event, they’ll now see their total badge count displayed right on the Newsflash screen.
  • The badge icon + updated count appears instantly, giving players immediate recognition and motivation.

What’s New

  • LibraryPage UI change: now separated into four pages:
  • My Library (current user’s content)
  • Shared with Me (content shared with current user)
  • User Libraries (access to other users’ libraries in the domain for standard, admin, and superadmin roles)
  • Search (returns all items in the domain that match the search query)
  • Assign different grants in the Locations Page.
  • Share content (folders, playlists, presentations).

  • Provides flexibility based on engagement preferences.
  • Ensures a more adaptable and user-driven battle experience.

This update enhances usability by making content filtering in Newsflashes more intuitive and allowing greater flexibility in battle engagement settings.

Release: Hoopla- Redesigned Content Management section

What’s New

To improve content organization, discoverability, and usability, we’ve redesigned the Content Management section in Hoopla. This update enhances the way assets are managed, categorized, and applied across channels and segments, making it easier to create engaging digital experiences.

Key Capabilities:

  • New UI Design: A more intuitive experience with improved navigation.
  • Advanced Filters & Sorting: Quickly find content with enhanced search and sorting.
  • Better Content Display: View assets and their tags on the same page.
  • Stock Tags vs. Custom Tags: Stock Tags (pre-set, non-editable) are now separate from Custom Tags (user-defined, editable).
  • New Hoopla Tags: Predefined seasonal, event-based, and corporate tags:
    • Seasonal: Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter
    • Holidays & Events: Halloween, Christmas/New Year, Thanksgiving, 4th of July
    • Corporate Themes
    • Added new assets to the Hoopla default folder
  • Batch Delete for Tags: Select and delete multiple tags at once.
  • Improved Search: Find specific tags or content faster.

Apply Tags to All Steps in One Action

You can now tag an entire channel or segment in one step:

  1. Navigate to Channels and TV and select a channel or segment.
  1. Click Manage Backgrounds and Tags for All Steps.
  1. Search for a tag, select "Shuffle all", and click Apply to All Steps.
  • Automated Tag Updates: Changes to Segment tags update all associated channels automatically.
  • Overrides for Specific Steps: While Segment tags are the default, Channel Steps can apply unique tags if needed.

Why It Matters

This update makes content management faster and more flexible, helping teams maintain consistent branding while allowing for customization where needed.

Release: Hoopla - Upload Custom Badges

What’s New

To enhance customization and align badge visuals with branding, team performance metrics, and recognition programs, we are introducing the ability to upload custom badge images for newsflashes.

Key Capabilities:

  • Admins can upload their own badge images via the Badges section.
  • Custom badges can be named and saved for easy identification.
  • The new badges will be available in the newsflash badge selection area.
  • Badges accrue in the Performance Console Trophy Case and on user profiles (Admin view).

This update gives teams greater flexibility in personalizing their recognition programs, ensuring that badge visuals are meaningful and relevant to their needs.

Release: Hoopla - Rating Filter for YouTube Content

What’s New

To prevent the use of offensive videos within Hoopla, we are introducing a Ratings Filter that automatically rejects flagged content based on YouTube’s content rating system.

Key Capabilities:

  • Works on Channel Level as a video step.
  • Works on Profile Level when adding a video before recognition.
  • Automatically filters and blocks inappropriate content, ensuring a safe viewing experience.

This update enhances content moderation, giving admins more control over the type of media displayed within Engage.
